Sisal

Epic Stone Works offers value and just in time delivery

Like the great pyramids of Egypt, the temples and courts of another great and ancient civilization can be found today on the sisal limestone plains of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. It was these ancient people who established natural sisal limestone as a building tool to form the courts and temples.   Epic Stone Works sources its own sisal limestones from different sites throughout the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. We use a blend of technology & hand craftsmanship in the United States to cut quality tiles and ornamental items such as balustrades, table tops, columns, pool coping, door & window frames, stair treads, fireplaces, etc. out of sisal limestone.

Sisal limestone is commonly used in these applications because it is dense & has a tight shell structure. Epic Stone Works has significant experience fabricating sisal limestone.

Sisal

Unlike many of our competitors we don’t claim to be the quarry. However, we are the fabricator. And because we are the fabricator we can offer value and just in time deliveries for job site conditions that are constantly changing. Sisal limestone is a shell stone with very small fossils, mostly coquina shells. Creamy in color, sisal limestone is very useful for carving fountains and other vertical elements. It is a sound stone, but is not hard enough for heavy traffic commercial applications. Epic Stone Works recommends that sisal be polished prior to installation to enhance its gorgeous patina. Behind every piece of sisal limestone we sell is the idea of an inspired designed, the hand of a talented craftsman, and the compassion of a knowledgeable sales representative.
